Welcome to the LINK Centre for Deafened People

Over 150,000 men and women with Acquired Profound Hearing Loss (APHL) live in the UK today.  That’s 150,000 individuals, plus their partners, children and families. These people have lost their hearing in adult life, not at birth or in childhood, and have great difficulties following what is said without using a hearing aid or cochlear implant.

The LINK Centre for Deafened People is the leading organisation for people with APHL.  We are a specialist resource providing advice, support and information on every aspect of this type of deafness.  Whatever your query, we are here to help.

LINK covers the whole of the UK, with offices in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  Go to the regions page to find out what’s happening in your area.  Find out about our campaigning and awareness activities.  Come and join our teams of volunteers.

Our helpdesk offers advice on support services, information about our research studies, and details of forthcoming events taking place in different parts of the UK.
